The commencement of the MPL tournament is on 15th June 2023. MPL of 2023 will comprise six teams representing the cities of Kolhapur, Nashik, Pune, Sambhajinagar, Jalgaon, and Solapur.
- Forthcoming team proprietors must be in an Open Auction procedure to purchase teams based on the above city names.
- Every team must play against every other in a round-robin league stage comprising five matches per team.
- From the league stage, the top four teams will enter into the play-off phase, which leads them to the finals according to the lines of the IPL.
- MCA will select certain cricketers from Maharashtra according to the protocol to be made obtainable for the MPL auction.
- A player draft/auction will be performed for the team owners to develop a few cricketers for their teams.
